Mother's Day

We had a great time celebrating Mother's Day. Andy made a great breakfast, I updated the blog, and read tons of books to the kids and enjoyed calm snuggles. We then ventured out o an open preserve about 5 miles up a winding mountain rd, about 35 min from our house. We were able to see views of the valley where we live and the mountains on the other side. It was gorgeous. We hiked a small trail called alpine pond rd. The kids found a gigantic rock and scaled the side of it....again and again and again. We loved watching fish in the water and dragonflies dancing through the reeds. After our hike I got a little shopping time with Andy's sister and then enjoyed a great Mexican dinner. Ben had the idea to bring Jen (Andy's sis) ice cream and toppings for her Mother's Day, so we dropped in with a bag of goodies to enjoy. Home again, after that, for a late bedtime and packing for OBX. We left early Monday for Raleigh. Pics to come about our visit with Rachel this week And then family beach trip!
