Lemons!

We are picking lemons! So fun

Parks parks and more parks

We walk constantly to new parks! It's neat not having to get into The car. Most parks are soft and have lots of sand. Some have cool water elements too. The kids are barefoot here about 90% of the time. They love it. The dirt that seems to be ingrained in their feet and legs is....interesting. Lol. The vegetation is really different too, so we've been enjoying exploring new plants and trees.

Arriving in CA first day!

Our first day in CA and boy were the cousins happy to be together! We've spent days upon days together and at lots of different playgrounds.

Mother's Day

We had a great time celebrating Mother's Day. Andy made a great breakfast, I updated the blog, and read tons of books to the kids and enjoyed calm snuggles. We then ventured out o an open preserve about 5 miles up a winding mountain rd, about 35 min from our house. We were able to see views of the valley where we live and the mountains on the other side. It was gorgeous. We hiked a small trail called alpine pond rd. The kids found a gigantic rock and scaled the side of it....again and again and again. We loved watching fish in the water and dragonflies dancing through the reeds. After our hike I got a little shopping time with Andy's sister and then enjoyed a great Mexican dinner. Ben had the idea to bring Jen (Andy's sis) ice cream and toppings for her Mother's Day, so we dropped in with a bag of goodies to enjoy. Home again, after that, for a late bedtime and packing for OBX. We left early Monday for Raleigh. Pics to come about our visit with Rachel this week And then family beach trip!

Swimming

We have been swimming non stop! I can't begin to explain the special bond the cousins have. They want to be together all the time. It is so special seeing them discover each other. It's amazing actually living 1.5 miles from family. So so special. You can see raynas new haircut in the pics below! She looks like tinker bell.
