I was holding Kayla while sitting on the ground by the canal, enjoying some after-dinner ice cream with the family. Kayla started getting upset and Jenn, who was sitting beside me, mentioned that she was probably hungry. Awkwardly I lifted Kayla off my lap and to the ground. She's been strong enough to hold herself standing with assistance for a while now, so she was standing and I was only holding her with one hand. (The other was preoccupied with the aforementioned ice cream.) Jokingly, I said, "Ok, Kayla. Walk to Mommy."
Jenn and I were stunned when she took three steps toward Jenn. I'm still blown away.
